Founded in 1960, CEEV – European Committee of Wine Companies – represents the European Union wine, aromatised wine and vinegar companies.
The companies represented by CEEV – mainly SMEs – produce and market the vast majority of quality European wines, both with and without geographical indication, and account for over 90% of European wine exports.
They bring a major contribution to the socio-economic dimension of the European wine sector and play a pro-active role in the economy of wine-growing regions. Indeed, whether they cultivate their own vineyards or work closely with grape-growers, our companies support local wine-related economies by producing wines and selling them in Europe and all over the world. Through their expertise and know-how, they also contribute to promoting the prestigious image of European wine on the different markets worldwide.
From a wider perspective, CEEV is closely connected to other wine- and agri-food-related bodies at European and global level, and is an active member of the European Liaison Committee for Agricultural and Agri-Food Trade (CELCAA, www.celcaa.eu), the Wine in Moderation programme (WIM, www.wineinmoderation.eu) and the International Wine Federation (FIVS, www.fivs.org).
•Lead, Coordinate & Defend
Our mission.
As the voice of the EU wine companies, CEEV’s key mission is to:
- Lead and coordinate the dialogue among the combined European and international wine sector, and
- Defend the common interests of EU wine, aromatised wine and vinegar companies towards the relevant national, European and international authorities and stakeholders, in all policy areas affecting these sectors.
In addition to leading a permanent constructive dialogue with relevant stakeholders to promote the common interests of the companies it represents, CEEV also provides its member associations and companies with legal and technical expertise on relevant developments at EU and international levels, as well as a unique platform to discuss common positions and implement coordinated actions.
•Meet our staff
Our team.
Based in Brussels at the heart of the European district, our permanent team deals with all EU policy areas that are relevant for our members and their companies, in order to secure and maintain a permanent and constructive dialogue with the European institutions, international organizations and relevant stakeholders, to promote the legitimate interests of EU wine companies.
