The Born Digital Wine Awards brought to you by Wine in Moderation; the international movement for a sustainable wine culture; recognise quality journalism and wine-based online content.
The awards, which fall into five categories with a special Responsibility Award, cover not only written media but also photographic and video material. They aim to reward outstanding content with international recognition and financial prizes.
Submissions will be accepted in a number of languages including English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German. For the first time since the creation of the awards, entrants will also be able to submit material in Greek. Participants may submit up to three entries that have been published between 1st June 2016 and 31st May 2017. Entries must have been published online, be qualitative, innovative and adhere to the Wine in Moderation ethic of promoting responsible communication of wine.
Richard Siddle, award-winning business editor will once again chair the awards. He recently commented: “On the face of it writing or using social media to communicate about wine does not sound the most difficult of exercises. What’s not to like? But it’s actually very hard to do well and for all the thousands of words and social media posts about wine few rarely jump out as being truly exciting and engaging to read. This is why “The Born Digital Wine Awards brought to you by Wine in Moderation” are so important. They not only give writers and communicators the chance to be rewarded and highlighted for their work, but it is a unique opportunity to showcase all the great, stand out articles and creative work being done to promote the wonderful world of wine that uses all the digital tools now open to us. It is also a great way to unearth new, fresh and exciting creative talent.
Submissions will be scrutinized by panels of highly respected writers and editors in the wine industry with shortlists published in October and the announcement of the winners in November.
There has been an increase in the number of submissions throughout the years, with the 2016 edition accumulating 267 submissions from 22 countries making this a truly international collection of the best online wine-based from around the globe.
“It really is an honour to be able to read, see and watch all the different and diverse entries.” (Richard Siddle)
Submissions will open on 1st June and close on 30th June and can be entered HERE!
