CEEV General Assembly elects new Board of Administrators and welcomes new Swedish member

14/03/2019

Brussels, 14 March 2019 – During its General Assembly meeting taking place yesterday, 13th March, in Brussels, CEEV elected a new Board of Administrator for a 3-year mandate.

The new CEEV Board of Administrators is constituted as follows:

  • President: Jean-Marie Barillère (UMVIN – Union des Maisons et Marques de Vins, France)
  • Vice-Presidents:
    • George T.D. Sandeman (ACIBEV – Associaçao de Vinhos e Espirituosas de Portugal)
    • Domenico Zonin (UIV – Unione Italiana Vini, Italy)
  • Treasurer: Aymeric de Beauvillé (FFVA – Fédération Française des Vins d’Apéritif, France)
  • Members of the Board:
    • Miguel A. Torres (FEV – Federacion Española del Vino, Spain) and
    • Noélie Genevey (GLEVE – Groupe de Liaison des Entreprises Vinicoles Européennes)

Jean-Marie Barillère, now starting his second mandate as CEEV President, said: “I am very grateful to the members of CEEV for their renewed confidence. Our sector will be facing some decisive challenges in the next three years, and I look forward to taking them up, hand in hand with all CEEV members.”

Also, CEEV is very glad to welcome as a new member the Swedish Spirits and Wine Association (SVL – Sprit & Vinleverantörs-föreningen). Established in 1998, SVL represents Swedish importers and manufacturers of wine and spirit beverages. Its members, coming from all over Sweden, represent more than 90% of Swedish retail alcohol monopoly Systembolaget’s established product range. “We are glad to reinforce CEEV’s membership with an association coming from an important wine-consuming country. It is fundamental to include also the voice of wine importers, which play a major part in the complex structure of the wine sector”, said Ignacio Sanchez Recarte, Secretary General of CEEV.

“By joining CEEV, SVL and its members look forward to benefiting from a unique access to information and competencies related to the European wine industry and regulatory environment. We also see the opportunity to contribute from the perspective of a retail monopoly market with a growing interest in wine”, said Anna De Geer, CEO of SVL.
